Distance learning for a national school system
Moved a school system of 500,000+ students onto Microsoft Teams during the COVID-19 closure, training 109,000 teachers and staff. Published by Microsoft, March 2021.
Reading public opinion in Kuwaiti dialect
An Arabic content and sentiment analysis layer on top of Pulsar, so parliamentary staff could track how citizens actually discussed legislation. Published as a Pulsar case study, September 2016.
The national e-government portal
Participated in implementing e.gov.kw and built the web system used to submit and evaluate national IT projects, including entries for the second Gulf E-Government Award.
Teaching a global platform to read Arabic
Worked with SAS R&D to extend the Arabic processing capabilities of SAS Text Miner, so an enterprise analytics platform could handle regional text.
Independent review of the tax administration programme
Reviewed and evaluated the technical outputs of the ITAS project and advised its steering committee, with written recommendations at each gate.
Digital transformation and AI assistants
Digital transformation of academic operations, a computer-based aptitude examination system, and two generative AI assistants for admissions and course content.
Analytics behind the news bulletin
Outputs from our products and services were used to generate trend reports broadcast in the news segment on Kuwait TV.
E-Learning and Virtual Classroom
Winner of Category 9, E-learning, at the ITU WSIS Prizes 2017 — one winner across 18 categories, from 345 nominated projects and 1.1 million votes.
National Profile of the Information Society in Kuwait
Contributed to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia’s 2013 country profile assessing the state of the information society in Kuwait.
Document management inside the Royal Court
Web applications and a SharePoint document management system for the Office of Consultative Studies and Research, across a fifteen-year engagement.
